I want to show you God’s first nutrition advice so we could enjoy our food and also live a good long-life worth living as He wanted for us.
I’ve learned that the part that blesses me the most about the scriptures are usually the details so that’s what we’re going to do now.
I think that everyone had read the first chapter of Genesis or at least knows the highlights of the creation story. But let me ask you something:
Well, if you don’t know the answer, you should read this:
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.
– Genesis 1.27-30 ESV
That’s right, the answer is B since in verse 30 God gives a different food for other living things.
God’s first nutrition advice
Matthew Henry talking about this verse says “As we were made out of the earth, so we are maintained out of it.”
With that same verse is clear that our main food should be every plant-based food which does not include animal-derived food.
We know that before sin there was no death, and without death there’s no meat to eat.
If you have read more about the scripture you already knew that God allows the consumption of meat after the flood and not only to human beings but also to animals. But this is also highly related to our lifespan because after the flood we could only live 120 years top. I would talk more about the flood in coming posts but for now, I only want to highlight one thing.
God’s original plan for our nutrition was based on plant-derived foods. So, don’t be surprised when you find out that Natural Medicine recommends the same as God did.

I could talk a lot about this topic but I don’t want to overwhelm you with too much data. The important thing is to understand that God’s first nutrition advice has the purpose of making you enjoy a long lifetime in all its glory.
