Here’s a message that God has for you through Steven Furtick where he explains that there’s another door waiting for you to open it and find what you most need.
It is a very interesting message that I know will bless you so check out the video or read it, in any way, there’s something for you.
There’s another door!
1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” 6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins…” He said to the paralytic, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
— Mark 2.1-12
On this passage, you can find the representation of four doors that aren’t obvious but the same happens in our own life. Actually, the greatest opportunities in our life aren’t obvious.
The door of disappointment
The men who carried the paralytic in the story wanted to see Jesus but they found disappointment when there was no room left, not even outside the door. A natural response to this situation would be to turn over and leave back to their homes, most would think that it was a sign of God or that it’s not the will of God to heal the paralytic.
Sometimes when you are rejected by someone or a situation is because God wants you to be higher.
These men didn’t know it by the time but they were doing just that. When they couldn’t found a door, they had to make one by themselves on the top.
Mark only talks about “faith” four times on his gospel and none of them represented an attitude, represented an action. That’s why to Mark faith is something you can see. Actually, faith is something you can see in response to something you can’t see.
Some of God’s greatest interventions in our lives are going to seem like interruptions.
2 Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
— Matthew 9.2
As you can see, Jesus didn’t start by healing the paralytic because before Jesus did something for the paralytic He wanted to do something in the paralytic. This is why He forgave his sins. Even though his friends had faith probably the paralytic didn’t, so Jesus had to work first on the character of the paralytic before He heals him.
Do I have to ask you? Who are your four? The wrong four would leave the paralytic on the front door but the right four opened a door on the roof to leave the paralytic in the right place.
If you are thinking about your four don’t worry because there are some four that you will always have with you: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and yourself.
When Jesus saw what the four men did for the paralytic, He forgave him but the paralytic was still on the mat. When Jesus heard the thoughts of the critics (aka haters) the paralytic got healed. That is, the haters thought got the paralytic healed. This means that sometimes God uses even the haters to bless you.
The door of opposition
The opposition proves the opportunity. As you have probably heard, when there’s opposition means that there’s something you are doing right.
By the way, the most of us don’t have haters, we just have people we disagree with. So don’t get crazy thinking that you have haters and always remember that the opposition is the opportunity.
Jesus uses the opposition to bring the man healing.
The door of obedience
If you will get up, you can get up. If you will forgive, you can forgive.
Today, in the face of adversity, in the face of weakness, in the face of everything that has been against your family and against your whole life, will you get up?
Would you become a door to show other people who God is? Because God wants to show who he is through you.
The door of revelation
The people were not amazed when the roof came off, they were amazed when the man got up.
You’re about to become a door so people can see Jesus through your life as the healed paralytic who got up and walked again. Everyone who sees him now can see who God is.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
— John 10.9
And since Jesus is the door nothing can come to our lives before it goes through Jesus.
Here’s something interesting that Steven Furtick made with this teaching. Check out the first letter of the doors me mentioned. Those were Disappointment, Opposition, Obedience, and Revelation. In other words, the DOOR.
Remember that Jesus is The Door and that he wants to do something on you before He does something for you. Let’s start by making this [prayer of faith].
